The end of the lease is usually specified as a date in your lease, and move out needs to be scheduled ahead o that date. The end of the term refers to the date when the tenant is no longer liable for rent, but it is good to clarify the tenant needs to be completely moved out of the premises by that date. If the tenant wants extra time, this should be specified in the lease.
Tenants should be careful to sign leases that specify that the tenant is responsible for certain maintenance ahead of or “as of” an earlier date than the date of move in.
